Evian Masters – Swing the World

Swing the World

To celebrate the opening of the Evian Masters’ official YouTube channel, they are launching a special event: Swing the World!

They want to see people from all around the world swinging in front of a monument, a symbol or characteristic landscape of the place where you are from. So, on your next walk, your next hike, with or without your golf club… SWING!

You can film your swing with a camera or your cell phone. The video should last 15 to 30 seconds, and the place where you are at should be recognizable at first glance. Once youre done send it to Michael Sayarath. msayarath@evianmasters.com

Golf Tip of the Day

I always like to take a swing thought to the course on my golf days so that I can practice with intent on the range and bring out a honed skill to the course.

For today’s drill, I will be working on trapping the ball with my irons. I have a propensity to flair a poor shot to the right. (My typical swing shot is a power fade, however I have been working this summer on adding a consistent draw to my game)

This video shares Golf Digest Teaching Professional Jim McLean’s advice on how to square the clubface at impact. Click here: http://bit.ly/mg80NQ (yes, there is a 30 second commercial first, sorry about that)

T Minus Time to Buy My New Phone

As of yesterday, my Touch Pro2 decided to quit turning on the backlight. Sure, it works briefly if you pull the battery out, but as soon as it goes to sleep mode, nothing works.

Ok, so time to replace it. And my posts have been stating that I’m ready, but still no phone out there yet. (No Windows 7 phone on Verizon yet, yes I know, the Trophy will be there shortly, but who wants a Trophy? not me)

Won’t buy anything Samsung, so that rules out the pricey, non-dual core processor “Charge”…the Droid X2 is bulky and comes with a wonky UI…Droid Bionic, albeit announced in January has still yet to hit the shelf.

Any suggestions? iPhone perhaps?

Disaster Recovery Plan – Do You Have One?

I am the biggest proponent of backing up data. Backing up data is simple, easy and is a must for businesses.

However, an IT disaster recovery plan is only a small part of an overall business continuity plan (BCP), continuity of operations plan (COOP), or comprehensive emergency management plan (CEMP).

The most important aspects of an effective disaster recovery is planning and training, which both need to be done far ahead of the event.

Not Receiving Some Expected Emails; CHECKLIST:

You send someone an email - they didn’t get it or you sent an email and it’s no where to be found. It happens, and it just happened to me the other day.

When I setup new emails accounts for clients, I always check the account by Sending, Receiving and Replying. Seems the Sending works, but Replying didn’t. I’m not really sure where the mail is going and will need to contact the Exchange Host company to find out what’s wrong. I digress…

Hopefully your email issues are less complicated and there are some easy things you could try and check without needing to contact your ISP or email administrator. Read on

“Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage”

We’ve all seen this error message:

“Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”

Usually it is because you don’t have an internet connection, the website doesn’t exist or you have/had a virus that checked the box to use a proxy server. (Tools, Internet Options, Connection Tab, LAN settings, uncheck the proxy server)

Well, here’s another reason why you might get that error message. When you use Windows Internet Explorer 8 or Windows Internet Explorer 7 to access a Web site, you may receive this error message when you access a Web site that uses both IPv4 and IPv6 as the Internet Protocol version.

Thought I would give you all a heads up and post it, since the internet is running out of IPv4 addresses,  and IPv6 is being implemented. And, if Microsoft has issued a “fix” for this issue already, well, I’m guessing we’ll be seeing it hit the field shortly.

You can use the FIX IT Solution:
