It’s nice to see that we finally get the standalone application for Skydrive Pro. Which means you don’t necessarily have to have Office 2013, but you do need:

Office 365 Pro Plus
Office 365 Small Business Premium
Office Professional Plus 2013

Once installed, simply click SYNC in the top right corner of your SkyDrive Pro library, SharePoint 2013 or Office 365 team site document library and you’ll be on your way to keep your files in sync across your machines. Happy syncing with SkyDrive Pro–cloud storage for employees!

“Beam Me Up” BING

Bing is continuing to honor Star Trek (and promote the release of Star Trek Into Darkness, the latest in the Star Trek film franchise) by boldly going where no homepage has gone before.

By entering the famous Star Trek “beam me up” phrase, Bing transports users to an interactive image of the Starship Enterprise traveling through space.

From the images, users can click on a variety of links that takes them deeper into more classic Star Trek images, trivia and links to videos.

It’s geeky, which makes it cool!

No Clue on the Cause of Honeybee Deaths

It has been awhile since I reported on New Bees?, BioTech for Bees, Buzz Of Disappearing Bees and Bee Buzz Update. So how are the little fuzzy flying buzzing bees doing with their fungus and Colony Collapse Disorder? Really, not much of a change.

According to a comprehensive federal study published on Thursday, the devastation of American honeybee colonies is the result of a complex stew of factors, including pesticides, parasites, poor nutrition and a lack of genetic diversity.

The report does not place more weight on one factor over another, and recommends a range of actions and further research.

Sure, that’s what will fix this, more years and years of research.

How to import .nk2 files into Outlook 2010

I have had luck by just copying the old Stream_AutoComplete_XXX dat file from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache folder and renaming it to whatever the new dat file is.

Course you can try:

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type outlook.exe /importnk2, and then click OK. This should import the .nk2 file into the Outlook 2010 profile.
Note After you import the .nk2 file, the contents of the file are merged into the existing nickname cache that is currently stored in your mailbox.

Or try the FIX IT for me solution provided by Microsoft. That’s worked once or twice too.

How To Check the Date Windows was Installed on a PC

There is a simple command that tells you what the “Original Install Date of Windows” was, on your PC. (Command works on Windows XP, Vista, 7 & 8 )

Open the Command Prompt and insert:

systeminfo | find “Original Install Date”

Sure, there are PowerShell commands too:

([WMI]”).ConvertToDateTime((Get-WmiObject Win32_OperatingSystem).InstallDate)

[timezone]::CurrentTimeZone.ToLocalTime(([datetime]’1/1/1970′).AddSeconds($(get-itemproperty ‘HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion’).InstallDate))

Google just announced that you can now filter image searches to only find “Animated” images. Do your image search, then click “Search tools” (under the search box), Click on the ”Any type” menu, then on “Animated”. Fun!

Balboa Park Golf Course – San Diego’s other municipal golf course just a 5 minute cab drive from downtown hotels, the San Diego Convention & Visitor Center, Little Italy and San Diego’s Gas Lamp District. Balboa Park Golf Course is a beautiful, traditional and challenging golf course with great views of the San Diego skyline, Balboa Park and Pt.
