If you are using Office 2016 that came with your PC, visit this site: Office 2016 with your New PC

Last Day for Windows 10 Upgrade

windows10orange

Thank you Microsoft, for your free upgrade.

I upgraded as many as I could… Windows 8.1 users and took 2-3 year old Windows 7 (Pro) machines into the new technology.

And the upgrade worked as designed.

So, Thank you Microsoft, for that free upgrade.

If you have a Windows 8.1 or newer computer, backup your data first and then upgrade today. In 2-4 years from now, it will be time for a new computer with Windows 12, 13, 14… and new technology is still further ahead.

Best way to upgrade right now is: msn.com

The splash screen to upgrade makes it easy. However; the upgrade will take a long time. My Updating Windows 10 blog post has more details.

On the 1 and 5 chance the upgrade doesn’t go seamlessly, we can always roll it back, within 30 days. That’s handy.

No way around it, just a heads up!

Top Margin Missing | WORD 2013

Every time I opened my WORD 2013 blank document, the top margin was missing:

word2013nomargins

Annoying, but was simple to fix.

If you’re reading the document in Print Layout view and all of the pages appear to be cut off, with no top or bottom margin, the option for hiding white space between pages has been turned on. You can restore them by pointing and clicking in the document.

1. When top and bottom margins are not showing, point to the top or bottom of a page until the pointer becomes a double-pointed arrow, and then double click.

Additionally, you can double check the WORD Options:

1. Click on File (in an open WORD 2013 document)

2. Click on Options

3. Click on Display > Select Show white space between pages in Print Layout view

Much better!

Windows 8.1 ISO’s

If you want to install or reinstall Windows 8.1 and don’t have installation media, you can get the step by step from Windows support page. You’ll need to use a PC with a reliable Internet connection and either save the installation files to a USB flash drive or burn an ISO file to a DVD.

You will need to create the media disk and then save it or burn the ISO to a flash drive or DVD.

Oh, and it’s FREE! (Of course. you will need a valid Windows 8.1 license key to use your ISO)
